Over the last few years we’ve followed their relationship through its ups and downs on TV’s Made In Chelsea, so for most of us it will come as no surprise that after two years together, Ryan Libbey has popped the all important question to Louise Thompson. With the details of the romantic Los Angeles proposal revealed, and the photos of Louise’s stunning 77 Diamonds ring shared by the newly engaged couple, we are happy to have been part of this special moment and creating the ring of her dreams.
Upon booking an appointment at the 77 Diamonds showroom, in the heart of Mayfair, Ryan was met by Sophie Lomax, Head of design at 77 Diamonds, an award-winning jewellery designer, highly regarded for her fine jewellery designs with titles including Professional Jeweller – Young Designer of the Year 2017 and Retail Jeweller – 30 under 30 Rising Stars 2017. With Sophie’s wealth of experience and passion for designing bespoke jewellery, she worked together with Ryan to create this special ring, unique to Louise and reflective of her style and personality.
The Stone
Choosing from over 300,000 diamonds on offer, Ryan was drawn to a beautiful diamond in a cushion cut, a shape that Louise was sure to love. In the top bracket of colour and clarity, meaning it contains very few imperfections and is highly desirable, the diamond also has the top industry grade for cut, polish and symmetry.

The style and setting
Working together with Sophie and with Louise’s personal style in mind, Ryan chose a white gold ring, with a stunning halo of round brilliant diamonds around the centre stone, softening the square shape of the centre stone. Delicate shoulders, also set with round brilliant diamonds, give the ring added brilliance and were designed with Louise’s petite fingers in mind. As a final personal touch, Ryan added a meaningful message, engraved on the inside of the ring: Always Yours.

Working alongside Sophie to create this unique design, Ryan’s special ring was handcrafted by skilled craftsmen in our London workshop and ready to be taken to Los Angeles in time for the romantic proposal planned!
