The couple, who hail from Northern Ireland, met as teenagers and were together for 11 years before their engagement. Ever since their first meeting, accounting technician Victoria Nesbitt and software developer Aaron Nesbitt have been inseparable. The couple share their story with 77 World.
The couple tied the knot a year after their engagement
First meeting
“We met at a Halloween party, my friend’s boyfriend at the time was hosting it, nearly 15 years ago, he was only supposed to be my lift home,” Victoria shares.
The one
“We were so young when we met, I was only 17 and he was 19, we both laugh and say we knew right away, we were always texting, constantly together, not much has really changed. We hate to be apart, says Victoria.
Aaron proposed in New York City and had another tourist capture the moment
The proposal
The couple were together 11 years before Aaron popped the question. For Victoria’s birthday, he treated her to a trip to New York in November 2014 right after their anniversary. “It was our second day of the trip, when we ventured to Central Park. We were walking towards the Gapstow Bridge and saw a couple with their young child trying to take photos.”
“Aaron offered to take a picture so that all three of them could be in it, the lovely couple returned the favour. All I remember is him asking the man to take one more shot, as I turned around Aaron was on one knee telling me he knows he made me wait a long time but that he wanted to do it right. I was in tears and don’t really recall giving him an answer, but it didn’t matter as the ring went on; it was always going to be a yes,” Victoria exclaims.
Aaron selected the Aurora engagement ring by 77 Diamonds for Victoria with a princess-shape diamond. The Aurora is a channel-set diamond band, featuring small princess-shape diamonds
“Aaron always knew what kind of rings I liked, he chose my engagement ring on his own, I had no input whatsoever, and the boy did good! He presented me with a stunning princess-shape diamond on a diamond band; I was in love and just couldn’t stop looking at it.”
The wedding
The couple tied the knot in December 2015 in front of 50 friends and family members at the Orange Tree House in Greyabbey in Northern Ireland, followed by the reception at Ramada Plaza in Belfast. “It was the best day ever, we had personalised touches that represented us as a couple throughout the day including an ice cream cart with our favourite ice cream as that is what we did on one of our first dates. When it was time to celebrate our first-year wedding anniversary, we were a week away from having our little girl, Lily, who was born on the 18th of December 2016,” Victoria shares.
Victoria and Aaron, we wish you a lifetime of happiness!
