Petersen Automotive Museum Honors Metallica Frontman with a Public Exhibition

The revered American musician and songwriter, James Alan Hetfield is being honored yet again, this time with a public exhibition at the Petersen Automotive Museum of Los Angeles. The display entitled ‘Reclaimed Rust: The James Hetfield Collection’, celebrates his time as frontman of Metallica as well as his love for automobiles and guitars.

Built from scratch with the assistance of esteemed engineer, Rick Burn; Hetfield is a proud life-long car enthusiast, channeling a different form of creativity and artistic expression through his distinctive collection, whilst forging a bridge between the two industries.

Crimson Ghost (1937 Ford Coupe)

Of all his extensively meticulous work both in music and in manufacturing, Reclaimed Rust will feature the 1948 Jaguar ‘Black Pearl’, 1934 Packard ‘Aquarius’, 1953 Buick Skylark ‘Skyscraper’, 1937 Lincoln Zephyr ‘Voodoo Priest’, and the 1936 Auburn ‘Slow Burn.’

The exhibition on 1st February 2020, also marks the first time James Hetfield’s collection will ever be showcased to the public.
